FIRST GRADE ARTISTS AND PERFORMERS

Students of rooms 104 and 107

Ms. Koffarnus, Ms. Fernandez, Ms. Bevan, and Alex Zoloto

The first grade installation for EARTH ARCADE was developed with the theme of Community and Social Responsibility. Students explored their personal identities and relationships to a variety of communities: school, family, city and world.  What does it take to be a responsible individual and a responsible community member?  Our installation focuses on Humans’ Impact on Nature and the actions we take as citizens to help or hurt the environment.

For our installation we

  • built and painted scroll devices
  • composed  music
  • developed a game
  • made our own costume pieces
  • wrote poetry for the earth
  • sculpted birds nests
  • constructed surreal flowers
